S-turbine type Semi-Kaplan
Regulation of the runner with runner blades fixed. Is the most frequently used machine for newly constructed small head hydropower plants. It is also used in the renovation of older plants originally equipped with vertical Francis turbines, which often achieves a better flow usage. The advantage is the low cost of the equipment.
Installation is ether with a drive belt or directly connected to the generator. To shutdown of the turbine gravitational plate closing on the input is used.
